Nexus Insights — Open Access to Guidance and Training Resources
Nexus Insights is a guidance and training initiative by StarNexus Science Press (Hong Kong). This policy outlines how our guidance materials, training resources, and mentorship content are made openly available to scholars, journals, and the wider academic community. All practices align with COPE Core Practices and international open access standards.
Open Guidance Model
Nexus Insights follows an open guidance model. Our training materials, templates, checklists, and mentorship summaries are made freely available to the scholarly community, so that researchers and journals can benefit regardless of institutional affiliation or geographic location.
No Access Barriers
Guidance resources are accessible without subscription, registration, or institutional membership.
Global Reach
Resources are hosted online and discoverable through the StarNexus platform, with permanent links for long-term reference.
User Rights & Licensing
Authors & Mentors Retain Rights
Contributors of guidance materials retain copyright of their work. No transfer of copyright is required. They grant Nexus Insights a license to publish the material under CC BY 4.0.
Creative Commons License
All open guidance materials are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing reuse with proper attribution.
Recommended Attribution
Users should cite the work as: "This guidance material is published by Nexus Insights under the CC BY 4.0 license. The original work can be found at [link]."
Reuse in Teaching & Training
Instructors and journal teams may adapt the materials for non-commercial training purposes, provided attribution to Nexus Insights is maintained.
Fees & Waivers
Basic guidance is provided free of charge to scholars and journals within the StarNexus network. For external journals or customized training programs, a service fee may apply. Detailed fee structures, waiver policies, and discount information are outlined below.

Rights for Users
Anyone can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of all open guidance materials published by Nexus Insights, without any financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

- Share and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the material for non-commercial purposes
Digital Preservation & Long-Term Access
All open guidance materials published by Nexus Insights are digitally preserved through multiple archival systems, ensuring long-term access even in the event of system failure. Contributors are also encouraged to deposit their materials in institutional repositories.
LOCKSS & CLOCKSS
Guidance materials are preserved through the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS archival systems, providing long-term preservation and access.
Portico
Content is also archived through Portico, ensuring continued access to scholarly guidance in perpetuity.
Permanent Links
Every guidance resource is assigned a permanent link, ensuring citable and stable access over time.
